Hop-Hop Evolution: Beginner Japanese

Memorize hiragana and katakana and learn lots of vocab with this cute and fun drilling game. Jumping to find the right answer will help you gain a reflexive ability to read Japanese.

How To

Just press space (or tap the sun) to jump when you see the answer. The stage's questions will get progressively harder and faster as you go along.  Making mistakes is OK though - that's a great way to learn. 

After finishing the stage, you can review all the questions presented in that section. Each time is random, so you'll have to play plenty of times to get everything. It only takes about 5 minutes or so to play through one stage. 

About

Hiragana and Katakana are the first steps to learning Japanese - but you will need to drill a lot to master reading them with ease. This game is a fun way to do that! And it only takes a few minutes to play. Before long you'll gain confidence in your ability to recognize, and smoothly read Hiragana and Katakana.

If you're thinking, "I want to start getting into Japanese," or, "I've been studying Japanese a while but I still can't read very smoothly," then this game is for you.

Features

Each question has five false options, and one right answer. Don't be afraid to make a few mistakes in order to count out any options you're not sure about.

Each stage consists of 20 questions.

The game tracks your growth (evolution) by recording your experience points. 

You will be rewarded with prizes for spot on timing and consistency. A rose is awarded each time you get two 10s in a row, and a crown is awarded if you can do that four times.

You never know what you'll evolve into - each evolution is a surprise! But each animal you evolve into is recorded in your collection on the main menu. Grow your zoo as big as you can!
